Mansingh Twins

|
Hotels have mushroomed in Jaipur over the years. They cater to almost all categories of
travelers – those who make a halt overnight on business, others who come to see the city
and still others who stay on for business for a few nights. This large number of traveler
movement in the city, which draws the largest number of foreign tourists during the winter
months, has led to fast growth of hotels. There are many in the lanes and by-lanes, some
have come up in posh areas and some have opened on the periphery of the city, at times
situated over 20 kilometres from the city centre and still calling themselves as being
in Jaipur. Many travelers do not wish to lose precious time in commuting to Jaipur by staying far away since all places of tourist interest and the hub of business activity is the city centre, or rather the old city. For a newcomer it becomes difficult to identify the best location for his hotel and that too when he is looking for quality that is reasonably priced. Mansingh Towers and Mansingh – the twin hotels separated from each other by a narrow lane – offer the advantages a wise traveler is looking for. Both the hotels are situated right in the heart of the city, but still outside the old walled part, well connected to the busy M I Road so that a business traveler stays in touch without being far from the city. The popular shopping mall, Ganpati Plaza, is just a stone’s throw away. Places of tourist attraction are all in fair proximity which makes the twin Mansingh hotels a good choice for the tourist and the business traveler. They are not on the main busy thoroughfare, so one does not hear loud traffic noises, but they are just round the corner. The twin hotels need no introduction as they have been there for years, part of the chain of Mansingh’s four hotels. Built in architecture reminiscent of Rajasthan’s forts and palaces, the lobby of Mansingh is attractive and large. The arches in the lobby supported by paneled pillars gives you the feeling of being in a ‘darbar’. The lobby also gives you a glimpse of the pool outside. It leads you into a large restaurant which has décor and design similar to that of the lobby. This restaurant generally serves buffets. Mansingh has a much bigger restaurant in the basement where one can enjoy live music in the evening. A bar counter is at hand in this restaurant which attracts people mostly in the evenings. The décor of this multi-cuisine restaurant is contemporary. Mansingh has a large conference hall for the corporates and a board room for meetings and interviews on the same level. Across the lane, Mansingh Towers has a different look in the lobby. It is an attractive atrium with a couple of glass elevators racing up the floors on one side and a large waterfall on the other. The atrium is tastefully decorated with furniture of Rajasthan complimented with a large old, artistic door empanelled in the wall in front. Towers too have a multi-cuisine restaurant, though smaller than Mansingh, but again this is compensated by a lavishly done Executive lounge adjacent to the restaurant. Both the restaurant and the lounge are connected to a large hall which also houses the bar. This hall is also used for breakfast buffet spreads. Rooms and suites in both the hotels are well furnished and equipped with all facilities including tea kettles. Bathrooms in the suites are spacious stuffed with toiletries, though of Mansingh’s own brand. The Mansingh twins have the distinct advantage of their location as well as the fact that it has its presence in Agra, a destination to which most tourists travel from Jaipur. Mansingh is perhaps the only standardized hotel to be present in Ajmer which draws huge number of people for pilgrimage and other tourist attractions. Altogether the four hotels of Mansingh group compliment each other in such a way that they have established themselves as a brand name in the region. It has become a favourite with tourist groups and families for its reasonably priced holiday packages. |
